UNcommon wisdumb trivia question of the day
From time to time, we read to the baby. You know, childrens books, Lowrider magazine, books-on-tape, etc. And naturally, I have come to wonder if... my baby has a better chance of hearing me (Kevin) talk if I speak directly into: a) Karla's open mouth, b) Karla's belly button, or c) other ??

Done-zo, Dunzio, Done E. McDunskowitz...
Baby showers? Hmmm... I thought they took baths. Anyhow, we may be having one of these sooner or later, or later than sooner, so be ready for that. More info to come.
Secondly, I must confess that the only reason why we have decided not to find out the sex of the baby is because it provides a lot of fodder for blogging. So, on that note, let me say that once again I am completely flip-flopping, and I'm feeling like its gonna be a boy, and so does Karla (she had another dream). And that's it. I have probably definitely changed my hopes and aspirations about this topic for the last time. Done.

we da best
This is just an informational post to let everyone know that we've set a new record for "kick counts (KC)." A KC is a daily record of how often your baby makes a movement in the mom's estoMagos.
It goes like this: first, you pick a time of day when the baby is active. Then, you note the first time that the baby kicks/spins/swirls/twirls/etc. You then count how long it takes for the baby to make ten of these movements and record that interval of time in a baby log or somethin like that. You do this everyday during this point in the prego-nancy to maintain a record of the bebe's activity. Last night was our first time doing the KC.
In short, our baby kicks a$$... literally. It only took us four minutes to get to ten movements. Not to brag, buuuut, that's probably the fastest kick count of EVER. And, I'm not even sure if its the quicker the better as far as that goes, but whatevs mayne :)

Mami here—People ask me who writes the blog entries… they say they can’t tell if it’s Kevin or me…well, Kevin says that if the blog is funny or clever in any way, then he is the obvious author, I’m totally rolling my eyes right now, but its totally true so to avoid confusion I’ll just state that it’s the baby’s mami whenever I’m manning the keyboard, or should I say momming..okay sorry, I don’t want to confuse anyone by being funny ;)
Week 27 starts tomorrow, yuppee, this is the last week of the second trimester.Weeks 28 through 40 are the final stretch before the arrival of the K-B bebe.
This week I’m totally loving: plain yogurt, hotdogs (Kevin bought 100% beef, grass fed ones that are amazing) and white corn (Mexican street vendor style w/ limon, salt, mayo, tapatio, YUM!) Oh and my new roomie, he’s cool…my apologies for the freaky pic on my belly btw, we have no cable or internet at the apartment so we keep entertained any way we can.

Oops. Please disregard the previous post :)
Boo-ya! I just checked the baby votes and we (boy voters) are up by one (11-10). We have prevailed, if only for now. So, keep the faith fellas and fellow boy-voters, our struggle continues...
OMFG... Its a girl!?!
There has been a real buzz this week about the potential girliness of our bebe-to-be, and Karla is more sure than ever that we will have a daughter. We've had some random encounters with strangers in public that have confirmed this, too. An inquisitive grandma at Costco assured us it would be a girl, and she, "has never been wrong," to put it in her words. Another woman noted the roundness of Karla's belly, which suggests that a female dwells within (a pointy shaped belly would mean that it'd be a boy). This is not to mention Karla's recent dream, where she had a whole exciting adventure with her baby girl. And I'm certainly not one to doubt any conclusions conjured in the mystical dreamscape of Karla's slumber. So, if all this doesn't amount to proof positive that we're getting a girl, then I don't know what will. Its time to wrap your domes around it people, its gonna be a little lady.
So, as the proud father a soon to be girl-child, I don't want to hear another word about baby boys--I'm soo tired of that. My heart is content to know that I will be soon be wrapping myself around a little finger and donning princess headbands on a fuzzy little head so everyone can tell that we've got a girl (you know... cuz they all kinda look that same at first). Then we'll all be able to bask in the super-cuteness of a future filled with ballerina tutus and lacy socks. Fa-ya!
BTW, we used the latest in Apple i-technology to put together the image above of what our little girl will look like. Its an exact 50/50 mix of me and Karla (we used DNA, CSI, y todo). Mm-hmm, drink it in, that beautiful thing there is gonna be ours in a short couple of months ;)
