Ay como me gustan las bodas especialmente cuando los que se estan casando son tan queridos! La verdad que hacen una pareja muy linda y les deseo un matrimonio lleno de amor y felicidad!

Viva Mexico!

The family just returned from a little getaway to Rosarito located in beautiful Mexico. My cousin Cindy married her dream man, Kaneo, in a lovely ceremony right on the beach! Those pics are on my facebook if you care to check them out, I might share a few cause I did have a few favs..

the next morning we wondered onto the beach for fresh coconuts and a little family fun. My sister got her hair braided while the rest of us ate mangos, cocos and corn in a cup! My brother in law even had a beer, right on the beach! it was a beautiful relaxing time. Vale was so happy she couldn't sit still...enjoy...













I love Mexico! I know it's not the safest, but we've never encountered any problems. We always travel in a group, dress down and stay in busy areas. You also need a passport now! but if you have a free weekend, and a little extra cash, I totally recommend a trip to Rosarito and Ensenada, its so cheap and theres lots to see, eat, do and buy! I bought a reboso to help me carry Vale on my hip, I can't wait to hand wash it and start using it!

Rohr goes the park

wow, my sis just showed me these pictures of her two cuties at around a year old, add Vale to the mix and I'm in cute heaven. These pics would look excellent in big frames with big mattes in my parent's living room. They were taken at Rohr park in 2005, 2008 and 2011 respectively.

3.5 years ago: we met at the Otay Ranch High School library, we shared our first drink at starbucks, we exchanged phone numbers, we smiled at each other through rear view mirrors as we drove away. 3.5 years ago I met the one. I love love love you to the moon and back!

walkin' by to say...Happy Monday!

She's a full time walker, and now I totally get why parents are never in a rush to see their little ones walking too soon. Here is why:
falls ever 10 steps, bumps into everything, needs shoes ALL the time now, wants to walk on her own w/o assistance, can walk away and leave our sight in under 2 seconds..please don't think I'm complaining, infact, I'm never allowed to complain, we're loving this new development and are in awe everyday as vale learns new stuff, just this week so figured out how to pick something off the floor and continue on her way w/o falling or sitting. She can also change her direction pretty effortlessly....

Other fun Vale news: she can blow on a whistle, drink from a straw, scream bloody murder, throw an impressive tantrum, play peek a boo, and my favorite...EAT CHOCOLATE CAKE...I know I know, it was only a small piece and I'll never forget her face...she looked up and over at the piece of cake on the table with wide eyes! so impressed!

Have I mentioned...

that Vale is OBSESSED with dogs? She points at them and squeals as loud as she can and if she's in arms, she demands to be put down so she can touch the located dog. Lately, telling her we're gonna go see the dogs is the only way to make her lay still during a diaper change or when strapping her into her car seat but in all honesty I'm weary of all dogs. They can't tell you that they don't like babies, I pray we'll get growled at before anything else. I always like to ask if the dog is friendly, but I got bit by a dog when I was young and I remember how scared I was and how much it hurt, so I'll continue to be weary, just to be on the safe side.... woof!

Happy B-day Grandmama!!

I'm pretty sure I made it clear last year when it was my mom's (soon-to-be Grandmama's) birthday that her gift was going to be of the type that kept on giving, or taking depending on your perspective. What I meant was that Bebe Valentina, who would be arriving a few weeks after I made that statement, would be the end-all of gifts from me. She would be such an awesome present to the family that she would render all future gift giving unnecessary. Well, it worked last year folks, so I'm cashing in on that one again.

What follows is a set of pics from Grandmama'z bday dinner at the Quesocake Factory. All photos were deemed "blogworthy" by Papa, who passed his blessing unto them during that birthday feast. All (correction: Most) jokes aside, it was a fun time celebrating with the fam-bam and the cheesecake was delicious ;)

oh girl, 11 months today!

The official countdown has begun, Valentina is a month away from the big ol' 1!!! Are you coming to her b-day fiesta on Saturday September 24th? Well here is your invite if you were waiting for one :) Lots of planning is underway...from the food, to the entertainment, we're getting lots of help from everywhere which is so greatly appreciated! Now, if only we knew someone who could make a delicious cake...Any lovely readers from say oh the OC area wanna make a b-day cake? :) If you have any b-day ideas to share or want to help out in ANY way, hit us up!

Vale is a walkin', talkin' grubbin' happy baby to say the least. I won't even attempt the list of things she likes to eat, anything we're eating, she's eating too! She splits her mode of transport 50/50, but everyday that passes she walks longer distances with less of a drunk girl wobble. I'm pretty sure she's thinking of leaving the crawl very soon :( I better video tape it before its too late. She empties her clothes drawers like she's preppin for a photo shoot, she loves putting stuff in boxes, she thinks sneezing is hilarious, and is ticklish to no end, a block or lego tower has to be destroyed immediately, and diaper changes are evil! Oh girl, you're almost not a baby anymore, in fact, now that you're walking I think you're a toddler!

She has a tiny cold and wasn't very smily this morning for her monthly photo, I tried the biscuit, no success, tried Eli (her chosen favorite toy, I was rooting for rosita, but nope) he was thrown overboard. At least she looked cute!




Thought I'd throw in a few happy Vale pictures from this weekend. One of her favorite treats are frozen blueberries by the dozen. Yum!

hi dear readers, my apologies for the unannounced hiatus..my computer is acting up and refusing to charge but I tried again this afternoon and like magic it started charging! So I quickly did a backup to my external hard drive, down loaded photos from my camera, and now I'm blogging in a hurry in case it decides to die again! The big announcement over here is that VALE IS WALKING!!!! she started really going for it about two weeks ago, and just this week she started walking across her abuelitas and grandparents living rooms. She prefers to crawl to get from place to place in a hurry but once she gets up she really doesn't hold back! For Kevin and I its been really exciting and anytime she gets into walking position we call for each other, sometimes they are false alarms but others we have just enough time to grab the camera to record a little video. We cheer for her and clap (oh she's clapping too, it's the freakin best)

We couldn't believe it, but she was charging into the water, didn't care that the waves were getting her in the face, it was the strangest/cutest/funniest!







Vale likes to stand at the door and bang on it, she yells at people as they come home from work, laughs with kids, and calls dogs over with baby chirping, we never really let her play outside, except for this one time. She was so happy playing with the kids and her Eli the elephant, I think she might have earned permission to play outside again. P.s. the chalk washed right of her new clothes, phewf!



Kevin and I sat on this same exact hill in Balboa park days after finding out we were expecting Vale, so every time we go there we sit in that same spot. It feels so surreal. Lovin' those Valentina Ballerina pants!



We took her hiking, a whopping mile uphill! The best workout ever since she was carried the whole way! And yes she wore that ugly hat the whole way up and down! She needs a new one ASAP
