Ya sure, some people may be taking Hawaiian vacays, sippin mai tais and eating black sand right off the tropical beach, but not us. Nope. We're down in the trenches of almost-parenthood, counting the days we've got left to, according to the advice of many other parents, get some sleep while we can. In keeping with savoring our child-free existence, we've also resolved to live a non-family friendly lifestyle as much as possible til the baby arrives, meaning lots of binge drinking and cigarette smoking, etc. Nothing says, "I'm gonna be a mom," like lightin up a stog and pounding a Bud Light Chelada tall boy, while daddy2be is up all night on pokerstars.net, smashing Mountain Dews and smelling like an old gym sock. Oh yeah, that's us folks.
IRL, we ARE counting the days while we try to imagine how our lives are gonna change. BTW, Karla says that her cousin and his wife got some real cute presents at their baby shower, and even though people can't buy gender-specific clothes, she thinks that everyone will be very creative and not curse her because they don't know whether its gonna be a boy or a girl when shopping for gifts.
