but I'm determined to share a few pictures from New Years Eve at my parents house :) My family is all about traditions as are most of the Mexican families and this year's celebration was not the exception.
A few minutes before midnight we ate our twelve grapes making wishes for each grape, then at midnight was the countdown with an apple cider toast followed by lots of kisses and hugs to everyone. My sweet sister Zenia and I started crying when we gave each other the new years hug because as you might have read in a previous post, I'm super sensitive to these types of emotional things, especially post pregnancy!
Then came a little bit of nuttiness as we proceeded to throw uncooked rice over our shoulders and onto the roof for a 2011 full of prosperity and run in and out of the house with luggage to ensure lots of traveling in the new year. I ran in and out of the house three times, one for myself, one for Kevin since he would have no part in my antics (EDIT: I actually did run in and outta the house on this one. Btw I really do enjoy these type of antics -Kevin) and one more for Vale since she slept through the whole thing. We may not have enjoyed New Years in Mexicali with the fire works and all the extended family but we all had a great time, I was so happy that Mr and Mrs K joined us, I hope this is just the first of many family get togethers.
Vale and I wore our pearls to welcome the new year
Right after we kicked my sister and brother in law's butt at Buzz word! High five with a shhhhh team KK.
I'm glad I finally got a picture of Zenia holding Valentina, my nephew crept in at the last minute but hey, the more the merrier I always say.
This is my other sister, I have twin sisters. I love how stoked she is about Valentina. She calls me daily and tends to drop by the apartment unannounced, it's cute :)
I told them to act like my sweet sleeping Vale...I guess my baby is not the only one that smiles in her sleep ;)
